Classic Fresh Tomato Salsa (Pico de Gallo)

1.Prepare the vegetables: Thoroughly wash and finely dice the tomatoes. Finely dice the red onion. Remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño and mince it finely. Mince the garlic clove and chop the cilantro.

2.Combine ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, minced jalapeño, chopped cilantro, and minced garlic.

3.Season the salsa: Pour the fresh lime juice over the mixture. Add the sea salt and black pepper.

4.Mix and taste: Gently stir all the ingredients together until they are evenly distributed. Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt, lime juice, or jalapeño for desired flavor and heat.

5.Chill for flavor development: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salsa for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours is ideal). This allows the flavors to meld and deepen.

6.Serve: Serve the chilled salsa with tortilla chips, tacos, burritos, or grilled chicken.
