Caramel Apple Candy Crumble

1.Preheat your oven to 190°C. Lightly grease an 8x8 inch (20x20 cm) baking dish.

2.In a large bowl, combine the diced apples, diced apple candy, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss gently until the apples are evenly coated. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

3.In a separate medium bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the crumble topping. Whisk to combine.

4.Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry crumble ingredients. Using your fingertips or a pastry blender, cut the butter into the mixture until coarse crumbs form. Some larger pieces of butter are fine.

5.Evenly sprinkle the oat crumble topping over the apple mixture in the baking dish.

6.Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbly and tender when pierced with a knife.

7.Remove the crumble from the oven and let it cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set slightly.

8.Warm the caramel sauce slightly if it's too thick to drizzle. Drizzle generously over individual servings or the entire crumble before serving.
