Sushi Jars

1.Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Place the rice and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Remove from heat and let it steam, covered, for another 10 minutes.

2.In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Remove from heat and let it cool.

3.Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl and pour the vinegar mixture over it. Gently fold the rice with a wooden spoon to evenly distribute the vinegar. Let the rice cool to room temperature.

4.Place a sheet of nori seaweed on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top. Arrange the cucumber, carrots, avocado, and crab sticks in the center of the rice.

5.Roll the nori tightly from the bottom, using a bamboo sushi mat if desired. Wet the top border with water to seal the roll.

6.Repeat the process with the remaining nori, rice, and fillings.

7.Cut each roll into bite-sized pieces and place them in individual jars.

8.Serve the sushi jars with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
