Preparation Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.

Step 1 In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Step 2 In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 3 Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.

Step 4 Meanwhile, prepare the frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Add blue food coloring to achieve the desired color.

Step 5 Once the cake has cooled, spread the frosting over the top and sides of the cake. Decorate as desired. Serve and enjoy!
