Children's Cake

Preparation Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Cake In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

3.In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.

Frosting In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, and continue beating until smooth and fluffy. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring and mix well.

Assembly Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake, including the sides.
