Roasted Duck Breast with Orange Sauce

Preparation 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. Score the skin of the duck breasts in a criss-cross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat. 3. Season the duck breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Cooking the Duck Breast 1. Place the duck breasts skin-side down in a cold frying pan. 2. Place the pan on medium heat and cook for about 6-8 minutes, until the skin is browned and crispy. 3. Flip the duck breasts and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the flesh side. 4. Transfer the duck breasts to a baking dish and roast in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness. 5. Remove the duck breasts from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Orange Sauce 1. In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, orange zest, honey, and soy sauce. 2. In a separate bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water. 3. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly. 4. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. 5. Remove from heat.

Serving 1. Slice the roasted duck breasts and arrange them on serving plates. 2. Spoon the orange sauce over the duck breasts. 3. Serve hot and enjoy!
