Preparation of the Dough In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, butter, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Mix until the dough comes together.

Chilling the Dough Divide the dough into two equal portions and wrap each portion in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheating the Oven Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Preparation of the Filling In a separate bowl, mix together the ground almonds, sugar, rose water, cinnamon, and egg whites until well combined.

Rolling out the Dough Remove one portion of the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out on a floured surface to fit a greased baking dish.

Adding the Filling Spread the almond filling evenly over the rolled out dough.

Sealing the Dessert Place the second portion of the dough on top of the filling and seal the edges.

Egg Wash Brush the top of the dessert with egg wash.

Baking the Dessert Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cooling the Dessert Once baked, allow the dessert to cool completely.

Decoration Decorate the dessert with edible gold leaf and silver dragées for an elegant touch.
