Meat Sauce In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

2.Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until the vegetables are soft and starting to brown.

4.Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, red wine, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

5.Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Pasta While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of water to a boil.

7.Add salt and olive oil to the boiling water. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.

8.Drain the cooked spaghetti and return it to the pot. Add a ladleful of the meat sauce and toss to coat.

Garnish Serve the spaghetti topped with additional meat sauce, fresh basil leaves, and grated Parmesan cheese.
