Exquisite Chocolate Truffle Cake

Prepare the Cake Batter Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in the hot water until the batter is well combined.

Assemble the Cake Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread the chocolate truffle filling over the top. Top with the second cake layer and spread more chocolate truffle filling on top. Dust the cake with unsweetened cocoa powder for an elegant finish.
