Egg-in-a-Hole Toast

Preparation Using a round cookie cutter or glass, cut a hole in the center of each slice of bread. Save the cut-out circles for serving if desired.

Cooking Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add butter. Place the bread slices in the pan and crack an egg into the center of each hole. Season with salt and black pepper.

Cooking Continued Cook the eggs and bread until the bottom is golden brown and the egg whites are set, about 2-3 minutes. Carefully flip the bread slices and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes for over-easy eggs or longer for desired yolk consistency.

Serving Transfer the Egg-in-a-Hole Toast to a plate. Garnish with fresh parsley and cherry tomatoes if desired. Serve hot with ketchup, hot sauce, or your preferred condiments.
