Cabbage Rolls with Beef and Potatoes

1.Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core of the cabbage and immerse the whole head into the boiling water. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the outer leaves are soft and pliable. Remove the cabbage, and carefully peel off the softened leaves. Set them aside to cool.

2.In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, diced potatoes, chopped onion, uncooked rice, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well to incorporate all the ingredients.

3.Take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the beef mixture at the base of the leaf. Roll the cabbage leaf, tucking in the sides as you go, to form a tight roll. Repeat with the remaining cabbage leaves and filling.

4.In a large skillet, pour the can of diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Place the cabbage rolls on top of the sauce. Cover the skillet and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the cabbage rolls are fully cooked and tender.

5.Serve the cabbage rolls hot, spooning the tomato sauce over them. Enjoy your flavorful and comforting meal!
