Festive Holiday Jelly Donuts

1.In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

2.Add melted butter, egg, sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.

3.Gradually add flour and knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.

4.Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out rounds using a cookie cutter.

5.Place a spoonful of strawberry jelly in the center of half the rounds. Top with the remaining rounds and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.

6.Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (180°C). Fry the donuts in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

7.Remove the donuts using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Allow them to cool slightly.
