Spicy Crab Roll Sushi Delight

1.Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming too sticky.

2.Combine the rinsed rice and water in a rice cooker. Cook according to the rice cooker instructions. If you don't have a rice cooker, bring the rice and water to a boil in a saucepan, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the water is absorbed.

3.While the rice is cooking, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan over low heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Do not let it boil.

4.Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl. Gradually fold in the vinegar mixture with a wooden spatula, being careful not to mash the rice. Let it cool to room temperature.

5.In a small bowl, mix the cooked crab meat, mayonnaise, and sriracha sauce until well combined. Adjust the sriracha to taste for desired spiciness.

6.Place a bamboo sushi mat on a flat surface and cover it with plastic wrap. Lay a sheet of nori on the mat, shiny side down.

7.Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking, then spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top edge.

8.Sprinkle sesame seeds over the rice for added flavor and texture.

9.Flip the nori sheet over so the rice is facing down. Place a line of the spicy crab mixture, cucumber julienne, and avocado slices along the bottom edge of the nori.

10.Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the sushi away from you, applying gentle pressure to keep the roll tight. Seal the edge with a little water.

11.Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to make additional rolls.

12.Using a sharp knife, slice each roll into 6-8 pieces, wiping the knife with a damp cloth between cuts to ensure clean slices.

13.Serve the spicy crab rolls with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi on the side.
