Classic Southern-Style Chicken Gravy

1.After cooking your chicken, remove it from the pan and set it aside to rest. Leave the drippings in the pan.

2.Place the pan over medium heat and add the flour to the drippings. Whisk continuously for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture turns a golden brown color, creating a roux.

3.Slowly pour in the chicken broth while whisking to prevent lumps from forming. Continue to whisk until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

4.Add the milk to the gravy and stir well to combine. Allow it to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

5.Season the gravy with garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.

6.Serve the gravy hot over your favorite chicken or biscuits.
