Mikey's Fiery Brown Sugar Brats

1.In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, hot sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard until well combined to create a marinade.

2.Place the bratwurst sausages in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

3.Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are hot and ready.

4.Remove the bratwursts from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the marinade.

5.Place the bratwursts on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until they are nicely browned and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

6.During the last few minutes of grilling, toast the buns on the grill until they are golden brown.

7.Once cooked, remove the bratwursts from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

8.Serve the bratwursts in toasted buns, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
