Decadent Cherry Cream Pie

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2.In a medium saucepan, combine the cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine and heat over medium heat until the mixture starts to bubble and thicken, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

5.Once the pie is completely cooled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top of the cherry filling, creating a smooth layer. For an extra touch, you can pipe the whipped cream around the edges of the pie if desired.
