Air Fryer Classic Popcorn

1.Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

2.In a medium bowl, combine the popcorn kernels and vegetable oil. Stir until the kernels are evenly coated with oil.

3.Place a piece of aluminum foil at the bottom of the air fryer basket to prevent the kernels from falling through the holes. Ensure the foil is large enough to cover the bottom but does not block air circulation.

4.Pour the coated popcorn kernels onto the foil in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

5.Cook the popcorn in the preheated air fryer for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket every 3 minutes to ensure even cooking. Listen for the popping to slow down significantly, indicating the popcorn is ready.

6.Once the popping has slowed, carefully remove the basket from the air fryer. Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl immediately to prevent overcooking.

7.Sprinkle the salt and optional butter-flavored popcorn seasoning over the popcorn while it's still warm. Toss to evenly distribute the seasoning.

8.Serve immediately for best results, or store in an airtight container once cooled.
