Mexican Lasagne

Preheat the Oven Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Meat Filling In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the onion, garlic, jalapeno pepper, and red bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

Season the Meat Filling Add the cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and tomato sauce to the skillet. Stir well to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Prepare the Salsa Sauce In a small bowl, combine the prepared salsa, chopped cilantro, chopped green onions, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

Prepare the Cheese Sauce In another bowl, mix the shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder until well combined. This will be the cheese sauce.

Assemble the Lasagne Spread half of the meat filling evenly in the bottom of a baking dish.

Assemble the Lasagne Layer 5 corn tortillas on top of the meat filling.

Assemble the Lasagne Spread half of the salsa sauce over the tortillas.

Assemble the Lasagne Spread half of the cheese sauce over the salsa sauce.

Assemble the Lasagne Repeat the layers with the remaining meat filling, tortillas, salsa sauce, and cheese sauce.

Assemble the Lasagne Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake the Lasagne Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve the Lasagne Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
