Candied Sweet Potatoes with Marshmallow Topping

Preheat the Oven Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry. Pierce each sweet potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking.

Bake the Sweet Potatoes Place the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for about 1 hour or until tender. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Peel and Slice the Sweet Potatoes Once the sweet potatoes are cool enough to handle, peel off the skins and cut them into thick slices.

Prepare the Candied Sauce In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Assemble the Dish Place a layer of sweet potato slices in a baking dish. Drizzle some of the candied sauce over the sweet potatoes. Repeat the layers, ending with the candied sauce on top.

Bake the Candied Sweet Potatoes Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and the sweet potatoes are tender.

Add the Marshmallow Topping Remove the baking dish from the oven and sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the top of the sweet potatoes.

Broil the Marshmallows Return the dish to the oven and broil on high for 2-3 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and toasted.

Serve and Enjoy Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
