Gourmet Steak and Spinach Bake

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

2.Season the steak cubes with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.

3.Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak cubes until browned on all sides but still medium rare inside, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.

4.In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil. Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

5.Add the chopped spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

6.In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, crumbled feta, and shredded mozzarella. Mix well to create a creamy cheese blend.

7.Prepare a simple cheese sauce by melting butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until thickened, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

8.In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the cooked macaroni, sautéed spinach mixture, seared steak cubes, and the creamy cheese blend.

9.Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading evenly.

10.Lay the phyllo pastry sheet over the top of the mixture, trimming any excess. Brush the phyllo with melted butter to achieve a golden crust.

11.Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the phyllo is crisp and golden brown.

12.Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

13.Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve warm.
