Classic Southern Peach Cobbler

1.Preheat your oven to 190°C and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

2.In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with 1 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until well combined, then transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and dot with the 1/4 cup of cubed butter.

3.In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.

4.Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

5.Stir in the milk and beaten egg until just combined to form a soft dough.

6.Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.

7.Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach juices are bubbling around the edges.

8.Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.
