Beef Stew

1.In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat.

2.Add the beef meat to the pot and cook until browned.

3.Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

4.In the same pot, add the onions and carrots. Cook until softened.

5.Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

6.Return the beef to the pot and add enough water to cover the ingredients.

7.Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for 1 hour.

8.Add the potatoes to the pot and continue cooking for another 30 minutes, or until the beef is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.

9.Season with salt and pepper to taste.

10.Serve hot, garnished with grated cheese.
