Fluffy Vanilla Cake

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

2.In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

3.Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4.In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.

5.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.

6.Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

7.Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8.Remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
