Savory Beef Bavette with Garlic Rice

1.Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.

2.In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the rinsed rice and toast it for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes slightly golden.

3.Pour in the chicken stock, add salt and pepper to taste, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

4.While the rice is cooking, season the beef bavette with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on both sides.

5.In a large skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned beef bavette to the skillet.

6.Cook the beef for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).

7.Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain into thin strips.

8.Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and serve it on plates topped with the sliced beef bavette.
