Glazed Donut Cookies with Sprinkles

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3.In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

4.Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

5.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

6.Fold in the sour cream until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky.

7.Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

8.Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked, but they will firm up as they cool.

9.While the cookies are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth and pourable.

10.Once the cookies have cooled for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

11.Once the cookies are completely cool, dip the tops into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off, then immediately sprinkle with colorful sprinkles before the glaze sets.

12.Let the glaze set for about 15 minutes before serving.
