Homemade Beer Recipe of the Dwarves from the Lord of the Rings series

Boiling the Water In a large pot, bring 4 gallons of water to a boil.

Mashing the Grains Add the malted barley and specialty malt to the boiling water. Stir well and simmer for 1 hour.

Preparing the Hops In a separate pot, bring 1 gallon of water to a boil. Add the hops and simmer for 30 minutes.

Straining the Liquid After 1 hour of simmering the grains, strain the liquid into a fermentation vessel. Discard the grains.

Adding the Hops Add the boiled hops liquid to the fermentation vessel.

Fermentation Cool the liquid to room temperature, then add the brewing yeast.

Primary Fermentation Cover the fermentation vessel and let the mixture ferment for 2 weeks.

Bottling or Kegging After 2 weeks, transfer the beer to clean, sanitized bottles or kegs for secondary fermentation.

Flavor Enhancement Add the crushed coriander seeds, dried orange peel, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, and cloves to each bottle or keg.

Secondary Fermentation and Conditioning Seal the bottles tightly or pressurize the kegs and let the beer condition for at least 2 weeks.
