Chili Apple Cake

Preparation Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and chili powder.

3.In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

4.Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Apple Filling In another bowl, toss the chopped apples with the brown sugar and cinnamon.

Assembly Spread half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Top with the apple filling, spreading it evenly over the batter. Cover with the remaining batter.

Baking Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cooling Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Cream Cheese Frosting In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Frosting Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting over the top. Serve and enjoy!
