Christmas Treacle Toffee

1.In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, treacle, butter, heavy cream, and salt over medium heat.

2.Stir the mixture constantly until the sugar is dissolved and the ingredients are well combined, about 10-15 minutes.

3.Attach a candy thermometer to the side of the saucepan and continue cooking the mixture, stirring occasionally, until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).

4.Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, ground ginger, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, and ground cinnamon until well incorporated.

5.Pour the hot toffee mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it out evenly using a spatula.

6.Allow the toffee to cool and harden at room temperature for about 1-2 hours, or until completely set.

7.Once the toffee has hardened, break it into pieces or cut it into squares using a sharp knife.

8.Serve the Christmas Treacle Toffee as a festive treat or package it in decorative bags for gifting during the holiday season.
