Perfectly Boiled Country Corn on the Cob

1.Fill a large kettle with enough water to cover the corn completely and place it on the stove over high heat.

2.While the water is heating, shuck the corn by removing the husks and silk from each ear. Rinse the corn under cold water to remove any remaining silk.

3.Once the water is boiling vigorously, add salt to taste. This enhances the flavor of the corn.

4.Carefully add the shucked corn to the boiling water. Make sure the corn is fully submerged.

5.Cover the kettle with a lid and let the corn boil for about 7-10 minutes, depending on the size and freshness of the corn. The corn is done when it turns bright yellow and is tender to the bite.

6.After boiling, use tongs to remove the corn from the kettle and place it on a serving platter.

7.If desired, serve the corn hot with butter and additional salt.
