Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with a Zesty Twist

1.Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.

2.In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic as it can turn bitter.

3.Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds to release their flavor.

4.Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the garlic oil mixture.

5.If the pasta seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

6.Stir in the lemon zest and juice, followed by the chopped parsley. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

7.Remove from heat and serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
