Savory Pasta with Tomato and Ground Beef

1.Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2.In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

3.Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

4.Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

5.Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato paste, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

6.Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

7.Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
