Crispy Baked Italian Chicken Parmesan

1.Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2.Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it with oil.

3.In a shallow dish, season the flour with salt and pepper. In another dish, beat the eggs. In a third dish, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

4.Take each chicken breast and coat it in the seasoned flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs to the chicken.

5.Place the breaded chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top of each piece to help them crisp up during baking.

6.Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown on the outside.

7.Remove the chicken from the oven and spoon marinara sauce generously over each piece, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

8.Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

9.Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
