Café au Lait Spéculoos Gourmand

1.In a small saucepan, heat the whole milk over medium heat until steaming, but not boiling. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.

2.Once the milk is steaming, whisk in the speculoos spice mix, sugar, and a pinch of salt until fully dissolved. Remove from heat.

3.Brew a strong cup of coffee or espresso. Pour the hot coffee into a large mug, filling it halfway.

4.Slowly pour the spiced milk into the mug with the coffee, filling it to the top. Stir gently to combine.

5.In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.

6.Top the café au lait with a generous dollop of the vanilla whipped cream.

7.Sprinkle the crushed speculoos cookies over the whipped cream for garnish. Serve immediately.
