Spiderweb Chocolate Halloween Biscuits

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

3.Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

5.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.

6.Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

7.Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand, then use a fork to create a crosshatch pattern on top, resembling a spiderweb.

8.Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

9.While the biscuits cool, prepare the chocolate ganache. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.

10.Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, stirring until smooth and glossy. Let it cool slightly to thicken.

11.Once the biscuits are completely cooled, dip the tops into the ganache, allowing any excess to drip off.

12.To create the spiderweb design, use a piping bag or a small zip-top bag with the corner snipped off to drizzle additional ganache in a circular pattern over the dipped biscuits, then drag a toothpick through the lines to create a web effect.

13.Top each biscuit with a mini pretzel, positioning them to resemble spiders. Optionally, sprinkle with edible black glitter or sprinkles for a spooky touch.

14.Let the ganache set for about 10 minutes before serving.
