Gooey Cheesy Maggi Noodles

1.Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.

2.Add the two blocks of Maggi noodles and the seasoning packets (discarding the oil/sauce packet if included, or using it sparingly if preferred). Cook according to package directions, usually about 2 minutes, until the noodles are tender.

3.Once the noodles are cooked, drain off most of the excess water, leaving about 1/4 cup of starchy cooking liquid in the saucepan.

4.Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the unsalted butter, whole milk, garlic powder, and black pepper.

5.Continuously stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is slightly creamy.

6.Add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses to the pan. Stir constantly and gently until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce is smooth, thick, and gooey, coating the noodles evenly.

7.Taste the noodles and add a pinch of salt only if necessary, as the seasoning packets are usually quite salty.

8.Serve immediately while hot and cheesy.
