Donuts with Condensed Milk

Prepare the dough In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.

Make the dough In a small saucepan, heat the milk until warm. Pour the warm milk into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. Add the eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Let the dough rise Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Roll out the dough Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch.

Cut out the donuts Using a donut cutter or a round cookie cutter, cut out donut shapes from the rolled out dough. Place the cut-out donuts on a lightly floured baking sheet.

Let the donuts rise Cover the donut shapes with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let them rise again for about 30 minutes, or until puffed up.

Fry the donuts In a large, deep pot or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (180°C). Carefully add a few donuts at a time to the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Fill and coat the donuts Using a piping bag fitted with a long, thin tip, inject condensed milk into the center of each donut. Roll the filled donuts in powdered sugar to coat.
