Microwaved Custard

1.In a large microwave-safe bowl, whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until well combined and slightly pale.

2.Gradually whisk in the whole milk, making sure to combine it thoroughly with the egg and sugar mixture.

3.Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, mixing until everything is well incorporated.

4.Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate or a paper towel. Microwave on high for 4 minutes.

5.Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave (it will be hot) and whisk the custard well to break up any clumps that may have formed.

6.Return the bowl to the microwave and heat for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the custard has just set but is still slightly wobbly in the center. Be sure to check the custard every minute to avoid overcooking.

7.Once done, carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Let the custard cool for a few minutes before serving. It can be enjoyed warm or chilled.

8.For an extra touch of decadence, serve the custard with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg on top, and/or pair it with fresh fruit or a dollop of whipped cream.
