Tuna Pasta Bake with Tomato Sauce and Cheese

1.Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

2.Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

3.In a large skillet, heat a splash of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

4.Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5.In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, drained tuna, and the tomato sauce mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.

6.Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.

7.Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

8.Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
