Classic Persimmon Pudding Delight

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking dish or similar size.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed persimmons, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well until the sugars are fully incorporated.

3.Add the melted butter, milk, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract to the persimmon mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.

4.In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until evenly mixed.

5.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6.If using, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans into the batter.

7.Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.

8.Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9.Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before serving.

10.Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
