Mediterranean Sardine Salad

Preparation of the bread croutons Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Baking the bread croutons In a bowl, toss the bread cubes with 1/4 cup of olive oil and minced garlic. Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Set aside to cool.

Preparing the dressing In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.

Assembling the salad In a large bowl, combine the chopped Romaine lettuce, flaked sardines, and baked bread croutons.

Dressing the salad Drizzle the salad with the prepared dressing and toss to coat evenly.

Final seasoning Squeeze the lemon juice over the salad and season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
