Savory Algerian Spaghetti with Ground Beef and Caramelized Onions

1.In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2.In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.

3.In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

4.Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

5.Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

6.Add the caramelized onions back into the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

7.Toss the cooked spaghetti into the skillet with the beef and onion mixture. Mix well to ensure the pasta is coated with the sauce.

8.Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
