For sweeter muffins, add an extra 1-2 tablespoons of sugar. Fresh cherries work best, but if using frozen cherries, do not thaw them before adding to the batter to avoid excess moisture. You can substitute cherries with dried cherries, chocolate chips, or nuts for variety. Muffins can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
