Yamien Manis Spesial (Sweet and Savory Indonesian Fried Noodles)

1.Cook the egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and toss with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.

2.Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

3.Add minced garlic and sliced shallots, and stir-fry until fragrant, about 1 minute.

4.Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until it changes color. If using shrimp, add them now and cook until pink.

5.Add the chopped bok choy and julienned carrot to the wok. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

6.Add the cooked noodles to the wok. Pour in the sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Add white pepper.

7.Toss everything together until well combined and the noodles are evenly coated with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.

8.Taste and season with salt if needed. The sweet soy sauce is already quite salty, so adjust accordingly.

9.Serve the Yamien Manis hot, garnished with fried shallots, chopped spring onions, and chili slices if desired.
