Sweet and Cheap Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Preparation Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Dry Ingredients In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the rolled oats and mix well.

Wet Ingredients In a separate large bowl, cream together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.

Combining the Ingredients Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in any optional mix-ins if desired.

Baking Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Cooling Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly soft. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
