Christmas Perad

1.In a large saucepan, combine the diced pears, sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and ginger.

2.Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.

3.Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the pears are soft and the mixture has thickened, stirring occasionally.

4.Stir in the lemon juice, chopped walnuts, and raisins, and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5.Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the perad cool to room temperature before transferring it to a jar or container for storage.

6.Store the Christmas perad in the refrigerator and enjoy it as a festive spread on toast, crackers, or as a topping for desserts.
