Decadent Vanilla Pound Cake with a Sweet Glaze

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or loaf pan.

2.In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

3.Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4.In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

5.Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.

6.Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

7.Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8.Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

9.To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if necessary.

10.Once the cake is completely cool, drizzle the glaze over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
