Beef Patties with Mashed Potato Cloud

1.In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix gently to incorporate the seasoning evenly throughout the meat.

2.Divide the seasoned beef into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1.5 cm thick.

3.Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the beef patties to the skillet.

4.Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned on the outside and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, loosely covered with foil.

5.While the patties are cooking, place the potatoes in a large pot and cover them with cold water. Add a pinch of salt to the water and bring it to a boil over high heat.

6.Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.

7.Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter and milk, then mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

8.To serve, place a generous scoop of mashed potatoes on each plate, creating a 'cloud' effect by fluffing the surface with a fork. Top each cloud with a beef patty and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
