Homemade Marble Rye Bread

Prepare the Dough In a large mixing bowl, combine the rye flour, white flour, instant yeast, and salt.

Prepare the Liquid Mixture In a separate small bowl, mix together the molasses, vegetable oil, and lukewarm water.

Mix the Dough Pour the liquid mixture into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until a sticky dough forms.

Knead the Dough Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Divide the Dough Divide the dough into two equal portions. Set one portion aside.

Prepare the Rye Filling In a small bowl, mix the rye flour and water to create the rye filling.

Prepare the White Filling In another small bowl, mix the white flour and water to create the white filling.

Prepare the Marble Rye Layers Roll out the first portion of dough into a rectangle shape. Spread the rye filling evenly over the surface.

Prepare the Marble White Layers Roll out the second portion of dough into a rectangle shape. Spread the white filling evenly over the surface.

Layer the Dough Place the white dough on top of the rye dough, aligning the edges.

Roll the Dough Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log shape.

Proof the Bread Place the rolled dough into a greased loaf pan and cover with a clean kitchen towel.

Let the Dough Rise Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, until it has doubled in size.

Preheat the Oven Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the Bread Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Cool and Slice the Bread Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
