Spicy Chicken Masala Skewers with Zesty Salsa

1In a large bowl, combine garlic paste (2 tablespoons), ginger paste (2 tablespoons), yogurt (2 tablespoons), lemon juice (2 tablespoons), garam masala (2 teaspoons), cumin powder (1 teaspoon), coriander powder (1 teaspoon), red chili powder (1 teaspoon), turmeric powder (1 teaspoon), and salt. Mix well to create a marinade.

2Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

3Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

4Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.

5Brush the grill with vegetable oil (1 tablespoon) to prevent sticking. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.

6While the chicken is grilling, prepare the salsa. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped onion (1 large), diced tomatoes (2 medium), green chili, (1) cilantro, lime juice (1 tablespoon), and a pinch of salt. Mix well and set aside to let the flavors meld.

7Once the chicken skewers are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

8Serve the spicy chicken masala skewers hot with the zesty tomato and onion (1 large) salsa on the side.
