Sweet and Savory Yamien Manis ala Chow Mein

1.If using dried egg noodles, cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and toss with 1 tbsp vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.

2.Prepare the sauce by whisking together sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and water in a small bowl. Set aside.

3.Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

4.Add minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

5.Add sliced chicken and stir-fry until it changes color. If using shrimp, add them now and cook until pink.

6.Add bok choy and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until slightly wilted.

7.Add the cooked noodles and bean sprouts to the wok.

8.Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and vegetables.

9.Toss everything together well, ensuring the noodles and vegetables are evenly coated with the sauce. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

10.Stir in sliced red chili if using.

11.Serve immediately.
